The food was fantastic. Come here if you're sick of all the usual food places in Little India. There's something unique here with flavours of Andhra. The Gongura chicken briyani was fantastic. The chilli baby corn was also very soft and delicious.
If you like very spicy Indian food this is the place for you.Their mutton briyani was full of fragrance and tasty. The meat was tender and juicy. The vegetarian platter with those side dishes there simply brought us to another level of food tasting experience. Every side dish has a unique taste and we finished off to the last bit. Will definitely go back for more!
I came here after taking a reservation and on a recommendation of a friend at 10pm for dinner. The staff were very friendly and even pacified my crying daughter and got her icecream for her as soon as we came. Chicken biryani was very spicy and tasty just like they make in Andhra. Gongura veg biryani was my wife’s favourite. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back again.
One of the issues we had eating out in Singapore is usually for dinner, after we finished sightseeing and did all the mall hopping, we were left with little or no food choices as most restaurants, hawker centers were closed. Lau Pa Sat, and Clarke Quay were a bit far off and hence we always had trouble finding a place that was open, especially after 9.30 PM. On day 1 after finishing Night Safari, we requested our driver to drop us at Little India for dinner. The Tekka Center was closed, Komala Vilas was overcrowded and most other nearby restaurants were closing, or already closed, or we did not like the menu. Finally we ended up here at Veera Flavours, which was still open, and we gladly occupied ourselves with the menu. From the looks of it, this place was a proper Andhra Restaurant, apparently it was called Amaravathi earlier, not sure if there is a connection to the one in Chennai. We ordered some roti, naans, paneer butter masala and a mushroom masala on recommendation by the manager. For my daughter we ordered vegetarian fried rice.It took a bit of time for the entire order to arrive, but the food was extremely good, be it the fried rice, or the rotis. The paneer butter masala was a little too sweet to my taste, but the mushroom masala rocked. It was fantastic, with beautiful flavours on chunky mushrooms, and a decent gravy that we all enjoyed. The food including the water bottles cost us around 72 Singapore Dollars, expensive by Indian standards, but a decently priced meal for a pack of 5. We noticed the thali's going around the tables, seemed to be very interesting, maybe you should try if you visit and do try the mushroom masala, it is an excellent one.
The hotel was suggested by my friend. After one day eating sweet chicken in Singapore our mouth is watering for Indian food and we stopped at the best hotel. We ordered thali and all the items are the best, it's just like home food at the best price. He said rice is unlimited but the cup is sufficient for one person. The owner or manager, I am not sure but he is very good , polite and guided some routes for destinations. I totally recommend this for people who visit Singapore and get bored of eating sweet chicken, visit the flavors.
