Cozy dining space, warm and friendly service, food is unique, balanced and reasonably priced. This original Putien restaurant in Singapore probably inspired many similar dishes found in heartlands, and to taste the authentic version cooked excellently with premium ingredients was quite an experience. The platter of starters which included the popular seaweed dish, fried yams, trotters and salt and pepper, and classic lor mee were tasty and enjoyable. Desserts are light and refreshing, the fried durian puree is a local favourite.
The dishes were all very nice. The manager recommended delicious dishes and advise the portion too based on the number of guests. Price is affordable too. Manager Fenny is a very friendly lady too. Recommended dish in the photo which I like to eat too. The soup is very thickly cooked with scallops seafood and more.
Food - Ordered the season specials - oysters in seaweed and claypot basil braised oysters. They were delicious and fresh! The signature HingHua Lor Mee did not disappoint with light delicate flavours. The noodles were soft and silky and still had good bite. For those looking for strong and tasty food, this is not your place. The desserts were just heavenly. So light and delicate and a great way to finish off a meal. Try them all. The Orr Nee was so smooth and delicate.Service and atmosphere - very friendly and efficient service. Special thanks to Ah Lian (莲姐)who made our dining experience so pleasant. She recommended great dishes for us to try and suggested just enough to fill us without being pushy.
Very good restaurant.Michelin star restaurant. Each of us are for 26 British pounds with 4 main dishes and 2 desserts. There is a soup for 4.8 singapore dollar as house special which is sublime.Staff were very kind, I ran out fo batgely and they charged my phone.Served us very quickly, less than 3 minutes since we ordered.1 Michelin star for a reasonable price, worth to try.
Wish we would have come another day. Had a booking for Monday (ahead of the lunar new year). Were only offered a lunar set menu with two options for two people. No other menu / dishes were offered. Also drinks menu was significantly reduced. After visiting loads of Michelin starred places around the globe, one to three, just judging by our experience, I wouldn’t know where the star comes from. Dishes weren’t special, way too similar. All soupy and not really flavourful. The ingredients may have been special for the main pot dish but taste wise, not my cup of tea. Also, and I rarely say that, was too much food for two people. Service was friendly but no one spoke English.
